This is your chance to work on the team that helps Meta’s partners, independent developers, and advertisers using Meta Platform to build engaging applications. The Developer Support Engineering team (DSE) offers scaled technical support to hundreds of thousands of developers around the world. As a DSE, you will be the first point of contact for bug reports and platform development questions raised by the developer community. You will assist our developers by troubleshooting and debugging issues and providing creative solutions to challenging technical issues. You will also be working with the internal engineering teams to ensure all issues raised are resolved in a timely manner, being an advocate for external developers. In addition to this, you will be responsible for building and improving our internal tooling, reporting and workflows. The DSE team is an engineering team that supports external developers by triaging platform issues while also building internal tooling to improve our support workflows. The team also collaborates with cross-functional teams on engineering projects to improve the overall developer's journey. We do both support and development work and we spend 50% of our time on projects that we choose. There are software development, workflows and people related projects, with enough diversity to explore and develop different sets of soft and engineering skills. You will get a chance to touch projects that range from working on critical points of WhatsApp and Instagram to our Marketing and Commerce family of apps.


Developer Support Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Provide world class support to the Meta Platform developer community
  • Become an expert in our products, our developers and their needs by providing effective technical consultation
  • Manage technical and product issues and escalations, delivering the highest level of developer satisfaction
  • Help scale developer support with Sales and Partnership growth
  • Work directly with developers to resolve technical issues
  • Engage with the operations and engineering teams to build, drive and improve our tools and processes
  • Write production code that will improve our internal tooling and our external support channels
  • Deliver data-driven, impactful results
  • Build understanding about the wide variety of software across the Platform at a deep engineering level
  • Build product insights from developer experience/sentiments and work with cross-functional partners to take appropriate action



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent degree and experience)
  • +5 years of experience in software development
  • Programming abilities in one or more of the following languages: Java, PHP, Objective-C, Python and Ruby
  • Excellent communication skills in English, particularly written communication
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing for mobile would be an advantage
  • Experience in enterprise support role would be an advantage
  • Experience with docker, jenkins or simillar
